A young teacher inspires her class of at-risk students to learn tolerance, apply themselves, and pursue education beyond high school. Freedom Writers is a film that follows the story of an inspiring teacher and her students. The teacher persuades her students to stay away from the streets where the gang crime and violence take place and come into school and make something of their lives. This relates to our film due to our cast and crew is almost methaphorically the teacher in Freedom Writers and the audience are the students. We want to inspire thoughs who watch the film that was involved in gang crime or still are to not go back into their old ways and focus on the future and making something of themselves. We want to show the message through Nikki's story, and her communties story, by doing this we want to show the viewers that life in gangs is far from being 'cool' but the reality of it is terrifying, barbaric and extremely dangerous.
