Learning From Other Films

Kidulthood Opening

- Camera
- Location
- Colour
- Music, Sound, Dialogue
- Mise En Scene

The film Kidulthood is a school drama, relating to youth, gang violence, knife crime. The opening sequence from Kidulthood, is in a school playground, and features teenages of the age sixteen or a coupel years older, playing football, talking, on the phone and also comepletely work in a technology classroom. The colours remain however very dull, to suit the mood of the whole film, as it relates to the social problems many teenagers face in the United Kingdom. The camera movement is mainly panning from teenager to teenager, while the teenagers are moving very quickly. The camera is mostly mid shots, and a few longshots however there is a close up of character Trife completing some work during the lunch break. The music is of a genre named Grime, witch is manly England based, and is of an extremely violent and using some very violent language relating to crime, drugs and violence. However the music suits the atmosphere of the film perfectally. The dialogue is very unformal and uses alot of slang, for example, "Oi pass my phone".
